Conclusion

Finally, in the early twentieth century Afro-Americans seem to be ignorant and naive. But in the late twentieth century they can play important roles in American films and they will be shown as they really are.                                                                                                                                        In the 21th century this rehabilitation will progress. More and more black actors play the main characters in films that are on the top of the box office. Will Smith ( "Men in Black"), Denzel Washington ( "Safe House"), Morgan Freeman ( "Million Dollar Baby"), Jamie Fox, LL Cool J (one of the main character of the series "NCIS Los Angeles") and Eddie Murphy ( "Doctor Dolittle") are known to be the best paid black actors in Hollywood. In addition, films like "Selma," "Twelve years a slave" or "The Butler" depict the hard reality and difficulties experienced by African Americans in society.  So there is a real evolution.                                                                                                  However, in 2016, no black actor or actress was nominated for an Oscar. This lack of diversity has been the source of controversy in the United States.
Should we see this as the limit of an evolution that has already took nearly a century?                   Or is it just the fact that no black actor or actress deserved it this year?
